Independent Candidates Update

The deadline to file direct nominating petitions for the General Election is Tuesday, July 7 by 4:00 p.m.   This deadline is for partisan local governments which include Cape May County and the following municipalities:  Dennis Township, Lower Township, Middle Township, North Wildwood, Stone Harbor, Upper Township and Woodbine.

Governor Murphy’s Executive Orders 105 and 120 require that petition signature collection during the declared emergency be done by electronic form.  Here is a link to the electronic petition signature form which must be used for gathering signatures electronically:

Candidates – complete page 1, sign the Certificate of Acceptance (page 11) sign the oath (page 12) on the standard petition form and submit at least the minimum of the requisite number of qualified voter signatures collected electronically.  Here is a link to the standard petition form:
